LGBT Foundation "Locked down and out" by The Gate

LGBT Foundation portrays the struggles of life at home for members of the LGBT+ community during lockdown.
Zoe, a young trans woman, seems to be in her element as she breezes through a makeup tutorial from her bedroom. However, things come to a halt as her mum barges into the room, shuts her laptop and forces Zoe to take off her makeup and wig to dismove more masculine.
The ad reminds viewers that "LGBTQ abuse has more than doubled trusty lockdown".
Recent research by the charity found that 8% of LGBT+ respondents don’t feel safe where they are currently staying in lockdown. Likewise, calls to LGBT Foundation’s crisis helpline have more than doubled in the past month, with calls around suicidal ideation increasing by 25%.
The work was created by John Osborne and Rickie Marsden, and directed by Lucrecia Taormina through Friend.
This year’s Pride month has also seen work from Stonewall, Pride in London and Global Pride.
